Robotized sorting

It refers to the use of automated sorting systems that utilize robots or manipulators to sort items. An example of such an application is robotized sorting of packages in logistics centers.

In robotized sorting, advanced vision systems are used to scan and analyze objects, which then transmit information to control systems that perform the sorting. Devices such as conveyor belts, robotic manipulators, and automated storage systems are also commonly used.

The use of robotized sorting allows for faster and more precise sorting, which in turn contributes to increased efficiency and reduced operational costs. This is especially useful for sorting large quantities of items that require quick and effective processing.

In manufacturing processes, sorting is an important and frequent element. Properly arranging small, precise parts takes a lot of time. The presented solution not only sorts the elements but also provides the option for assembly. Vibratory feeders distribute the elements, vision sensors send data about the arrangement, and the intelligent robot picks up the element.

  • The complete workstation consists of two sub-stations: assembly and testing.
  • The workstation allows for simultaneous assembly, testing of functionality and quality of components.
  • It eliminates errors before moving to serial production.
  • The automatic system is designed for rubber element placement.
  • The workstation is equipped with an industrial robot, servo-mechanical press, leak tester, and vision system.
  • The finished product is transferred to the visual inspection area. If the product meets the criteria, it is placed on a pallet. If it does not meet the criteria, it is moved to the rejection area for further processing.
